A typical mixed modality session might begin with massage to help you ease into the experience and allow your practitioner to assess your tension patterns. From there, cupping or acupuncture may be used to target specific areas of discomfort or tightness. While the needles are in place, you may also receive gentle touch at the ankles with Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, allowing the body to process and release. After the needles are removed, the session can include more massage or BCST to help integrate the work and deepen your relaxation.

Each mixed modality session is adaptable to what your body needs, so it could include just massage and cupping, massage and acupuncture, or a combination of modalities based on what feels right for you in that moment.

Adrienne is a Licensed Acupuncturist with additional experience and training in massage. Over the years, she has developed her own therapeutic massage techniques to support her clients’ healing. While she is not a registered massage therapist (RMT), she offers massage as part of her broader healing practice.

This treatment is ideal for those who have acupuncture insurance benefits but are needle-phobic or prefer a session focused solely on massage. Please note that while your acupuncture insurance benefits can still apply, this is a non-needling treatment, and Adrienne uses acupressure and other therapeutic techniques to address your points of tension.

There is an additional $10 charge for massage-only treatments due to the physical effort required for manual techniques.

Adrienne Perkins, R.Ac., is the owner of Pointed Relief, located in Slocan, BC. With a background in Traditional Chinese Medicine, bodywork, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, Adrienne brings a grounded, attentive, and compassionate presence to her practice, which she has been honing for 14 years.

Adrienne was first drawn to the healing arts as a teen, originally accepted into university for nursing. But even before classes began, she realized her calling wasn’t in prescribing medications or managing symptoms—it was in getting to the root of what was going on, and offering care that was holistic, hands-on, and actually listened to the body. This led her to acupuncture, massage and eventually to craniosacral work, where she found a truly collaborative and empowering way to support people in their healing.

She now specializes in helping clients experiencing everyday aches and pains, chronic pain, nervous system overwhelm, and the impacts of stress. Her treatments combine acupuncture, therapeutic massage, and biodynamic craniosacral therapy—all within the same session. She begins with massage, follows with acupuncture, and then layers in craniosacral work to help the body integrate and release what it’s ready to let go of. It’s a gentle but powerful approach that respects the intelligence of the body and allows each session to unfold in real time, based on what’s most needed.

Adrienne believes healing shouldn’t feel clinical or rushed—it should feel personal, attuned, and deeply respectful.

Outside the clinic, she’s a parent, a wannabe gardener and a lover of nature, dance, joy and spontaneity!

And a quick heads-up: Adrienne is great at what she does in the treatment room—but her receptionist (also her) is not always as on top of things. If you don’t hear back right away, feel free to reach out again. Email, text, or call back—it’s not you, it’s just a one-woman show.

She’s truly looking forward to meeting you—and to the care, connection, and healing you’ll create together.
